That roaring sound you hear is hunting season rapidly approaching (although it could also be a tornado, so you'd better look outside.) Either way NOW is the time to start planning. BCA has added new calibers since last season, and we still have all the old ones available as well.
When selecting a caliber to help fill your freezer there are some things to consider:
1) The weight of the lucky game animal you want to invite to dinner
2) The maximum distance in which you feel comfortable taking the shot
3) How sensitive you are to recoil
4) What calibers are legal in your state: check with your Wildlife Resource Commission website
To help you decide on the best caliber to maximize your chances of success, check out the table below to see the effective range of each caliber for various game animals. Please note that the energy listed is at POINT OF IMPACT, not at the muzzle.
BCA Foundation
The June 2024 Newsletter chronicled the BCA Foundation’s donations made possible through the ROUNDUP program. Through this initiative, customers' order totals are rounded up to the next whole dollar, with the additional amount donated to the BCA Foundation. Local community projects, first responders, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, and veteran / military organizations have all benefitted from this program.
Two additional law enforcement agencies recently received donations. These were Boonville, N.C. Police Department and Whispering Pines, N.C. Police Department.
The ROUNDUP program has generated tens of thousands of dollars for very worthy causes. Thanks to your generosity, the donations will continue to support those who need our help.

Most hunters enjoy all aspects of the sport: the preparation and planning, the anticipation of opening day, the successful hunt, and the camaraderie of fellow hunters. MARINATED VENISON
Recipe for six steaks, 4 oz. each, (1/2” thick Loin steaks )
¼ cup beef broth or burgundy dry wine
1 ½ tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
¾ teaspoon dried whole thyme
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
Marinate 8 hours, turn occasionally
Grill or broil
