The BC 200 series is a re-imagining of the classic semi automatic rifle through the BCA lens. Enjoy the simple joys of handling a timeless rifle design in some of the most accessible calibers. “Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned shooter, you will love Bear Creek Arsenal’s new BC-201 rifle. This semi-automatic .22 LR caliber rifle is one of the most popular designs with innovative technology in features and options that make it even more customizable and fun to shoot.”
The Ruger 10/22 needs no introduction, and clones that seek to improve on the original can be a hit or a miss. As they tend to do, Bear Creek Arsenal went boldly to revive a semi-auto .17 and .22 Magnum.
My take on the Bear Creek Arsenal BC 201 is not a referendum on those designs. It is Bear Creek’s take on playing it safe with a base platform that is proven to be reliable and familiar to many shooters but aesthetically upgraded and accurized at a price point not much beyond what one would pay for a stock rifle.
-James Hebert
Bear Creek improves upon the design with desirable upgrades including the match-grade bull barrel, a nicely tuned trigger and the comfortable-to-use overmolded stock
In short, out of the box, this Bear Creek Arsenal .17 HMR is an attractive package for hunters and plinkers who want a ready-to-go varmint rig without breaking the bank. The match-grade 416R stainless barrel, capped with the Diligent Defense Enticer L Ti suppressor, a comfortable, lightweight stock, a 9-shot rotary mag, and a picatinny rail allow easy scope mounting and practical accuracy.
